Join us as we explore the amazing reefs of Raja Ampat by liveaboard. Raja Ampat is comprised of a vast network of islands and the best way to experience the whole area – from the north’s Dampier Straight to Misool in the south – is by liveaboard. We have chosen to explore it via an iconic wooden sailing yacht built in the local Indonesian style known as a phinisi liveaboard.

From Sorong we will head south towards Misool. The abundance of stunning dive sites and the natural beauty of limestone, jungle-clad islands, means we will have no shortage of places to explore. Misool can be divided into many areas where we can spend the whole day at a selection of amazing dive sites. We will then slowly head north to the Dampier Strait for the last part of the tour.

The region has so much to offer – with spectacular soft corals swaying in the water and sea fan forests that have to be seen to be believed. We can expect several species of reef sharks as well as wobbegong (carpet) sharks, and Epaulette (walking) sharks. We hope to see oceanic and reef manta rays as they come to be cleaned and feed on the plankton on the surface. Turtles (green and hawksbill) abound too, along with schooling fish like jacks, barracuda, and all the brightly colored reef fish we find in the area including butterfly, angel, trigger, parrot, surgeon, sweetlips fishes, and more. Of course, as we will be in the epicenter of marine biodiversity, it means there are plenty of unique critters to be found like blue ring octopus, nudibranchs, and many different species of pygmy seahorse!

Day 2 - 10 - Onboard The Coralia

Each day begins with a “light” breakfast before starting a site briefing for your first dive of the day. Via Coralia’s large tender boats, dive groups will be dropped at the designated dive sites.
After the first dive you will return to the boat and dry off. There will be dry towels waiting on the dive deck. A full hot breakfast will then be served. After breakfast you will hit the water again for another dive.
Return to the main boat for a delicious lunch. After a little break to allow our food to digest, you will prepare for the third dive of the day. Afterward, there is usually a snack and hot beverage served (you will not go hungry on this cruise!), before you enter the water for a sunset or night dive, depending on the conditions and sites in the vicinity.
Dinner is a 3-course meal, mostly a la carte. One evening we will have a big barbecue. There will always be additional snacks such as cookies and a fruit bowl throughout the day.

Evenings are spent looking through fish ID books, reviewing the days photos and sightings, chatting in the spacious lounge or enjoying the night sky from the deck. Water, coffee, tea and soft drinks are complimentary aboard Coralia. This is also a selection of beer, wines and spirits available for purchase.

All this from the beautiful and comfortable Coralia, while eating great food and relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
