Nabucco Island Resort is set on a small island off the Indonesian Borneo coast, in the Sulawesi Sea. This intimate resort offers comfortable waterfront and garden accommodation and access to spectacular diving.
The 18 rooms were all built in traditional Indonesian style. The utmost care was taken to preserve the island’s natural vegetation resulting in a magnificent resort space. The turquoise seascapes and lush green garden views can be enjoyed from the bungalow’s private terraces, the bar, and the stilted over-water restaurant. where a delicious 4-course dinner is served daily. Environmentally responsible, both in construction and operation, we think this resort s fantastic.
Nabucco Island Resort is perfectly situated for diving the Maratua Atoll, where the nutrient rich currents coming in from the Pacific ocean bring large pelagics and schools of fish. The island is surround by a lagoon area, the other side of the lagoon is defined by a magnificent and lively reef. There is only one small channel into the lagoon, causing strong tidal flow, which often brings various sharks including reef and hammerhead, manta and eagle rays and schools of barracuda and tuna with it. The nearby dive sites include well-known “big fish country”m which is a delight to dive on the incoming tide.
Kakaban, a nearby island has a brackish water lake which offers the opportunity to snorkel with none-stinging jelly fish during a surface interval.
Sangalaki, world famous for year round mantas and beautiful coral, is also accessible form this fantastic resort.
