This itinerary combines some of the loveliest diving in Indonesia with beautiful beaches and vibrant people. Journey through the islands of Indonesia on an island hopping adventure. This 12-16 night tour encompasses much of what is great about this vast archipelago. You’ll begin from the northern tip of Sulawesi diving the Bunaken National Park with it’s plunging reef walls and diverse marine life. This region is located in the heart of the coral triangle so expect to be amazed by what’s on show beneath the surface. Based from Siladen Island Resort with it’s white sand beach and swaying palm trees, there’s plenty of time to kick back between dives and soak up the island life. For the more energetic there’s the chance to explore the highlands and volcanoes located just a short boat and jeep ride away from the resort and get a taste for Sulawesi’s rich cultural heritage by visiting the local markets and seeing traditional villages on foot.
The diving in Indonesia continues as, from Sulawesi, you’ll travel south to the Island of the God’s – Bali. Just a few hours travel will take you away from the resorts and busy settlements of the south and into the provincial regions which offer spectacular topside vistas and more quality diving opportunities. Candidasa is a small town on the east coast which offers access to dive sites like the Liberty Wreck, now covered in soft corals and a magnet for a wealth of Indo Pacific marine life. Islands east of Bali attract giant manta rays and between July and September bewildering Ocean Sunfish come to have their exteriors cleaned . Bali offers plenty of opportunities topside with dramatic rice terraces, hindu temples and rugged volcanoes.
Extensions on the trip will take you further east and onto the Komodo National Park which boasts some of the finest diving to be found in Indonesia with healthy coral gardens, sharks and big fish. There’s excellent trekking opportunities on Rinca Island plus the chance to get face to face with legendary Komodo Dragons.
