We’ve chartered the Amira Liveaboard for a 4th year in a row, because we love it. This cruise will travel through West-Papua, which offers, without a doubt, Indonesia’s best diving and some of the best diving worldwide.
During the trip the Amira visits the most beautiful dive sites of Raja Ampat. Widely regarded as the pinnacle of Asian diving there are few locations on Earth which parallel Raja Ampat for sheer diversity of marine life. Below the water there are over 1100 species of fish and over 450 different species of corals making the area one of the most diverse marine habitats in the world. This is reef diving perfection combined with awe inspiring congregations of fish life and truly spectacular topside vistas- above the water limestone islands rise out of the turquoise water, covered in lunch green plants, breathtaking.
Our itinerary, which may change depending on weather conditions, will include Kri and Mnsuar, as well as the island labyrinth of Wayag where in addition to the dives in fish-rich waters, the spectacular scenery delights. Misool is also on the itinerary, the reefs are simply stunning full of soft corals and fish. The larger islands, like Misool itself, have canyons and lagoons speckled with white sand beaches ideal for tender boat rides. Topography varies from fringing reefs, coral plateaus, walls, lagoons and current swept pinnacles. The magnitude of marine life on offer often leaves even the most experienced divers in awe.
Amira is one of Indonesia’s newest purpose built dive vessels, built in 2010 using traditional methods of construction and design she offers an authentic experience of seafaring throughout remote territories of the country. Despite her recent introduction Amira is backed by an experienced crew who have been diving these waters for many years, on board you can expect plenty of space to relax and soak up the atmosphere with a number of decks to choose from to spend your time.
In total there are 8 cabins which host a maximum of 18 guests, all are equipped with individual controlled air conditioner plus an extra fan, minisafe, and en-suite bathroom with hot/cold water shower. The spacious dive deck enables easy and efficient kit ups whilst tender zodiacs are on call for speedy drops offs and pickups, Amira Liveaboard also boats it’s own dedicated camera room for preparation in comfort and ease.
