We think we’ve come up with the ultimate snorkeling adventure with our Alor & Komodo Safari.
We’re likely to encounter big fish like manta rays, reef sharks and masses of schooling pelagics along the way, backdropped by fields of hard and soft corals.
We first base ourselves on the secluded island of Alor in the far eastern reaches of Indonesia, where we have almost exclusive access to a vast number of spectacular snorkel sites to explore.
An extraordinary island in the Komodo National Park will be home for the second half of the trip where we will stay at the Komodo Resort. We have countless snorkeling opportunities here amongst the lush and lively reefs and combine our time here with a land excursion to see the legendary Komodo Dragons.
Day 1 - 2 // Bali
Arrive into Bali. Meet the group and your trip leader, welcome to Indonesia dinner. The following morning, we check in for our flight to Alor.
Day 2 - 9 // Alor Island
Based from the beautiful Alami Alor Resort our time will include daily morning and afternoon snorkel sessions at a variety of spectacular sites in the area.
Highlights include Clown Valley to see anemones, the Cathedral Area to see underwater volcanic rock and caves, the Great Wall of Pantar and Maria’s Coral Garden which teem with underwater life. Also included is a half day land excursion to visit local villages plus beachside BBQ.
Day 9 - 15 // Komodo National Park
Check out and transfer to the airport for our domestic flights to Labuan Bajo. Here we will be transferred by boat to Komodo Resort. Here we will have spectacular full day snorkel sessions where highlights include Manta Point, Tatawa Besar for reefs and turtles and Tatawa Kecil for dramatic underwater scenery and canyons. We will enjoy unlimited snorkeling on the house reef and will take a day trip to the island of Pandar, and another in search of the Komodo dragons living in the wild on Rinca island.
The Alami Alor is an intimate resort situated on a remote and quiet bay which combines luxury accommodation and delicious locally inspired food. Your bungalow sits on the waterfront. The bedroom is air-conditioned, and there is an open-air garden bathroom. There is plenty of outdoor seating, with hammocks and loungers.
The Komodo Resort which is set on its own private island in a secluded area of eastern Indonesia Not only is it within range of some of Komodo’s finest snorkeling sites, it has a spectacular and pristine house reef, powder white sand beaches for afternoon relaxation and accommodation finely in tune with its surroundings.
