Step well off the beaten path with us in outback Indonesia, this tour takes us to a collection of remote islands which lie east of Bali. We’ll be diving two distinct regions, Alor and Komodo are part of the Nusa Tenggara chain and are characterised by stunning landscapes, rich and healthy reefs and abundant marine life.
Offering some of the finest diving to be found anywhere in Indonesia both destinations offer everything from big pelagics like Mantas and Hammerheads to rare critter life and seemingly endless coral reefs. Enroute we’ll take time on Rinca Island to see the Komodo Dragons and deserted beaches and coves. This tour is fully guided by a member of the Dive Safari Asia team.
We have exclusive use of Alami Alor Resort, capacity is for 12 divers in total and we expect to have the reefs very much to ourselves also. Expect stunning underwater vistas, good opportunities for big pelagics such as sharks, mola mola and schooling jacks and barracuda.
We’ve planned this trip around the full moon, just after which there are excellent chances of seeing schooling hammerheads at a particular secret spot found by owners Max and Lauren. All this combined with superb muck diving sites located in front of the resort and at neighbouring sites up the coastline.
This will be our 4th visit with a group to the rather spectacular Komodo Resort. Located on it’s own private island in the heart of the national park we’ll dive sites such as Manta Point (so far 100% success rate – this May we had 8 manta), Batu Bolong which is amass with fish life and beautiful corals and Castle and Crystal Rock which are superb shark dives. Again there’s plenty of variety with some good critter dives which we often make in the afternoon on sites close to the resort.
The resort itself is beautifully designed, expect amazing sunsets from the beach bar, walking trails and an afternoon trip to see the Komodo Dragons on the last day is included. The scenery around Komodo is truly stunning.
