This photo was taken whilst diving the volcanic vents off the coastline of Pulau Weh in North Sumatra. We were on tour with photojournalist John Bantin and for our last day decided to head to the bay of Pria Laot to warm up and check out the hot springs, Andrea one of the tour members kindly poses for the camera. The vents are no more than around 6 meters deep, in between the sulphur encrusted cracks and you might find the odd moray eel or parrotfish which also seem to enjoy the heat, the local dive centre have even reported manta sightings here. This is a great spot to spend 20 minutes or so taking pictures and generally enjoying the scenery and allowing the bubbles to pass around you.
