What can I say apart from Mike’s Dive Resort hit the mark on every point.
Rooms:
We were in room 1. Very spacious, with plenty of storage and a large bathroom. Jane and I found the room to be very comfortable. We know these hotels are basic and not to expect luxury, but there are very practical and clean.
Dining:
One of the best things we have experienced previously about the Philippines is their simple approach to western food. At Mikes, they deliver great food and a generous portion. I did not hear any of the group suggest they were still hungry. We did have a couple of special dietary requirements, they met these requests with enthusiasm and a desire to please the guest. The choice was varied and the guys liked the fact they just sat down and was fed. Corri did tell the group the night before what they were planning on cooking to make sure everyone was happy.
I would like to say a huge thank you to Laya, Jenalyn, Fay and Vince from front of house who had to deal with us. These guys never stopped smiling and always happy to meet our needs.
Diving:
After all this is the reason we are there!
I hope Mike and Jonathan appreciate Gabby, Marlon & Ace. I don’t think I have dived with such excellent guides for their spotting ability like these 3. Gabby, was our guide, I am sure he was spotting things that weren’t there, then somehow they would appear. All three guides worked together so well and spotted between them so everyone was able to see the delights of the Philippines.
I do have to say this, these guys totally outclassed the guys from Manado and definitely beat the guys from Raja who were good.
I cannot praise Mikes staff enough for the service they gave us. I can speak for the group and say it was an amazing trip. This was new to most of them and are talking of another land based trip like this for 2020. Pound for pound you cannot beat the Philippines. I am delighted to say there has been nothing negative I can offer regarding this holiday.
Thanks again Ben.
