The large string of atolls that make up the Maldives offer some of the finest diving on the planet and whilst there are some excellent coral reefs on offer the highlight is surely the opportunity for large marine life encounters like manta rays, whale sharks and schooling predators. A typical days diving will lead you drifting over fringing reefs, exploring caves and caverns, marveling at oddly shaped critters and taking in the spectacle of the rich marine life that surrounds you.
Choosing the right island for you is where we come in, with many different resorts on offer each with individual character and dive opportunities we can tailor your trip to your exact requirements.
Generally speaking you can split the region into north, south and central – Ari and Lhaviyani atoll are located in the central region and with a mix of channels and fringe reefs the currents passing through attract mantas and and cruising reef sharks, Baa in the northern region also boasts excellent chances of big fish encounters including whalesharks during June to September. Further south the atolls become more spread out but offer well preserved rich coral reefs for long relaxing dives.
